PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a new dandy roll capable of preventing the deterioration of a face wire roll with the lapse of time and a method for forming the dandy roll, to obtain a paper having a watermark pattern formed therein by using the dandy roll and to provide a method for forming the sheet of paper. ;SOLUTION: This dandy roll for watermarking is obtained by adopting a structure for forming each shape 7 supporting each uneven part 6 corresponding to the uneven part 6 of a face wire roll 5 on a backing wire roll 4 and mutually fitting the uneven part 6 onto the shape 7 for supporting the uneven part 6 from the back side. Thereby, when the face wire roll 5 is made to act on a paper stock web, the back side of he uneven part 6 can evenly be held with the backing wire roll 4 and the deformation of the uneven part 6 can resultantly be prevented to use the dandy roll for watermarking for a long period. Since the shape of the uneven part 6 for the forming can be maintained for a long period, a clear watermark patterned paper of a constant quality can stably be produced over a long period in the production of the paper.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
