PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive optical FM signal transmission system with a simplified configuration, low distortion and excellent reception sensitivity, incorporating an FM signal transmitter and a voltage controlled oscillator.;SOLUTION: A voltage controlled oscillator 4 receives a plurality of AM signals 30 whose subcarrier signals are multiplexed, and applies narrow band FM modulation to the received signals 30 to obtain a fundamental carrier and harmonics. A band-pass filter 5 selectively extracts an FM carrier component of the harmonics with respect to the fundamental carrier, and a frequency converter 7 shifts the extracted component toward lower frequencies. An optoelectronic transducer section 3 converts the output of the converter 7 into an optical signal and the optical signal is transmitted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
