PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a communication channel with the minimum number of tree structures by containing paths between given entrance nodes and given exit nodes in the case that communication between an entrance node and an exit node to/from a network is conducted through a communication channel with a tree structure. ;SOLUTION: The design circuit for a communication channel with a tree structure sets a mixed integer programming problem that contains paths between a given entrance node and a given exit node with a communication channel with the minimum number of tree structures, solves it and provides the communication channel with the tree structure. More concretely, the design circuit is provided with an optimization reference generating means 101 that generates a mixed integer programming problem which contains a given path with a communication channel with the minimum number of tree structures, a tree generating condition generating means 102, a path containing condition generating means 103, and a tree utilization discrimination condition generating means 104, and also with an optimization means 105 that solves the mixed integer programming problem generated by these means.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
