PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a heat developable photosensitive material having good surface properties of a photosensitive layer and excellent in sharpness, the heat developable photosensitive material produced by the method, and an image forming method using the photosensitive material. ;SOLUTION: (1) In the heat developable photosensitive material with a photosensitive layer containing at least (a) an organic silver salt, (b) photosensitive silver halide, (c) a reducing agent and (d) a binder on the base, the concentration of solids in a coating fluid for the photosensitive layer is ≥35 mass %. (2) In the above item (1), the concentration of solids in a coating fluid for the photosensitive layer is ≥40 mass %. (3) In the above item (1) or (2), ≥70 mass % of the solvent of the coating fluid is an organic solvent. (4) In the above items (1)-(3), ex situ AgX of ≤0.1 μm average grain diameter is contained as the photosensitive silver halide.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
