PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fatigue detection element capable of improving the degree of freedom on selection of a measuring position by miniaturizing the formation, and measuring the degree of fatigue damage to a member with high sensitivity and high accuracy. SOLUTION: In this crack-type fatigue detection element, both ends in the longitudinal direction of a foil-shaped rupture piece on which a slit extending from one side part in the width direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction toward the other side part in the width direction is formed on the center part between both ends in the longitudinal direction, are stuck on one surface of a foil-shaped substrate, and the other surface of the substrate is fixed on the member to be detected, and the degree of fatigue damage to the member to be detected is detected by the crack development length developed from the slit. In the element, an intermediate part including the center part where the slit of the rupture piece is formed is formed thinner than both end parts in the longitudinal direction over the whole length in the width direction.
