In this case, the tool rest 9 is not directly arranged on the bed 8, a surface plate 11 is installed between the bed 8 and the tool rest 9, and the surface plate 11 is provided with a piece 12 for arranging the cutting edge 10a of the cutter 10. The piece 12 has a groove 20 and arranges the tip S so that the tip S of the cutting edge 10a of the cutter 10 mounted to the periphery of the tool rest 9 does not directly contact.
