PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user with such information that the correspondence between a place and the information depends upon neither the subjectivity nor the production intention of a specific person and current, past, and future context information of the user is reflected.;SOLUTION: A GPS reception part 15 of a portable computer 1 receives a GPS signal to obtain the current position and time of the user and records them in a personal information recording part 17. The current position and time information, action history information, and schedule information recorded in the personal information recording part 17 are uploaded to a workstation 2 through a radio data communication part 14 and recorded in its main memory. The workstation 2 calls information on the current position periphery which depends upon the past and future contexts of the user by performing retrieval from a knowledge set such as an encyclopedia database 3 and WWW according to the uploaded current position information as a retrieval condition and sends the information to the portable computer 1, which displays the information on its display 13.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
