PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio wave propagation path fault prediction method and the fault reduction method capable of predicting a fault generated in a radio wave propagation path or avoiding the fault in a mobile object satellite communication system using a satellite. SOLUTION: A radio wave shielding object on a course, a relatively moving obstacle, are captured by an on-vehicle camera mounted on a mobile station as image information. In a virtual space capable of expressing the coordinated of the obstacle and the coordinated of the station of a communicating party, a prediction line for connecting the coordinates of the obstacle and the coordinates of the station of the communicating party is set. Based on relative movement on the prediction line, the time that the obstacle reaches the coordinates of the station of the communicating party or the time that it passes by the coordinates of the station of the communicating party is predicted. Thus, the generation time period of a communication fault or the end time period of the communication fault is predicted. Also, the communication channel and communication system of a communication network are temporarily changed based on the information and the communication fault is avoided.
