PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct Internet call waiting processing by using an existing public telephone network, without the need for interconnecting a public telephone network to an Internet service provider.;SOLUTION: An Internet call waiting server 16 detects a transfer source ID included in a call, when receiving the call transferred from an exchange which is the component of a public telephone network 12, acquires caller side specific information corresponding to a user of a called party (=log-on ID, IP address or electronic mail address), on the basis of the detected transfer source ID and informs a called party user terminal 11 about the arrival of the call on the basis of the called party specific information via the Internet 14, then the Internet call waiting processing can be conducted by utilizing the existing public telephone network 12, without interconnecting between the public telephone network 12 and Internet service provides 15, 17.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
