PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Mg-Al-based hydrotalcite type particle powder having a large diameter of a plate face, and a proper thickness, and suitable as a stabilizer for a chlorine-containing resin.;SOLUTION: This Mg-Al-based hydrotalcite type particle powder has the plate face with 0.3-1.0 μm diameter and 0.02-0.08 μm thickness, and the surface of the particle coated with a surface-coating material comprising one or more kinds selected from a higher fatty acid, an organic silane compound and rosins. The Mg-Al-based hydrotalcite type particle powder having ≥160 min heat-proof time is obtained by mixing and aging an alkaline aqueous solution containing an anion, with an aqueous solution of a magnesium salt and an aqueous solution of an aluminum salt to provide core particles, further adding the aqueous solution of the magnesium salt and the aqueous solution of the aluminum salt again to the resultant aqueous suspension including the core particles, aging the resultant mixture to provide particles to be treated, and coating the particles to be treated with the surface-coating material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
