PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically divide performance information to plural parts matched with the performance information and to enhance detective precision for detecting a chord from the performance information.;SOLUTION: A key chord of a press-key sound of a keyboard 4 is stored. A CPU 1 performs interruption processing by an interruption signal from a timer 10 at every piece of eighth note. The key code occurring in the keyboard 4 is analyzed to four parts of a base voice part, a base chord voice part, a melody chord voice part and a melody voice part. According to the number of press-key, one voice part analysis, two voice parts analysis, three voice parts analysis and four or above voice parts analysis are performed. By combining plural conditions such as a pitch of a sound, whether or not the timing is a measure top, whether a strong beat sound or a weak beat sound, the pitch with before base voice part sound, the pitch with before melody chord voice part sound, the part of the press-key sound is decided. When the chord is not detected in the part of the chord voice part, the chord is detected based on the parts of the chord voice part and the melody voice part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
