The random signal generation method involves filtering a noise signal to obtain a signal x(t) with a preset spectral envelope H(f). A non-linear function is applied to x(t) to give a signal y(t) approximating a preset frequency histogram f(y). An impulse response w(t) is applied to y(t) to correct its spectral envelope and obtain an output signal s(t) with the preset spectral envelope H(f). Independent claims are included for a generator device to execute the method, and for a digital to analog conversion system using the random signal.
