Citizens band (CB) based device for pre-warning other drivers of the presence of highway repair vehicles on the road in front of them, has unit for selection and continuous broadcasting of a warning signal
The device comprises a transmitter (2) able to emit a continuous signal in a citizen's band (CB) frequency on a predetermined channel. A reader device (5) is able to read from a database of recorded messages and is connected to the transmitter so that the desired message can be continuously emitted. A further device (13) can be used to indicate the position of the works vehicle.
