Foundry sand treatment equipment comprises horizontal driven shafts with contact disks (10) turning in sand on a gas-pervious intermediate base above a housing base. A system for improving the reusability and processing properties of foundry sands, especially used and new foundry sand, has motor-driven horizontal shafts with centrally running contact disks (10) engaging in sand on an upwards aerated, finely perforated and/or porous intermediate base located above the base of a housing. Preferred Features: The contact disk surfaces are coated with hard metal.
