Centrifugation process uses rotating deflector made from porous, fibrous, mesh, gel or filter material which alters sedimentation speed of the components and sharpens their separation. Laminar or turbulent, gaseous or liquid flow of filling- or carrier media of the components for separation is suppressed or prevented, inside the rotating deflector. Preferred features: Various simultaneous inlet and outlet systems for the components to be separated are detailed, including a compact tube arrangement, with central sealing. The deflector comprises equally-spaced radial lamellae, channels or capillaries with components of radial direction and filled with porous, fibrous, net-like or gel materials. They have conical form. The equipment is further detailed, salient points including optical ports enabling precipitation rate to be measured, for process control. Through-flow may be driven by peristaltic pumping. Heat-resistant sliding seals are employed, and are cooled in addition for ultracentrifugation. Additional drive is provided for the deflectors, using accumulators and brushes. Omega centrifugation may take place. Some or all rotor components are disposable. The system may be disposable, closed and sterile, in biocompatible material.
