Neutral zwitterion transition metal compounds useful in the catalytic synthesis of polyolefins at high catalytic activity and containing approximatelyp-ligands are obtained with good mophology without partially homogeneous polymerization
Neutral zwitterion transition metal compounds containing pi -ligands or electron donors are new. Neutral zwitterion transition metal compound contain pi -ligands or electron donors and have the formula (I): where: L = pi -ligands or electron donors, which can be bonded together, N = 1-4, M = a heteroatom, an optionally aromatic hetero-ring, heteroalkyl, Y = 1-40C hydrocarbon, optionally halogenated with F, Cl, Br, or I, f = 0 or 1, A = metal atom of groups Ib, IIb, IIIa, IVa,Va, VIb,VIIb, or VIIIb, R1 = 1-40C hydrocarbon optionally halogenated with F, Cl, Br, or I, m = 1-5. Independent claims are included for: (1) A catalyst containing at least one compound as described below and a co-catalyst, e.g. methylaluminoxane; (2) Preparation of the polyolefins in the presence of the catalysts described below.
