A buffer for fitting into a recess (8) in furniture items (6) consists of an inelastic bush (4) with a locating rim (26) and an elastic insert (3). The insert (3) is in one piece with the bush (4) and has a conical protruding end (24). The insert (3) can have a cylindrical hole (28) and a retaining section (20) of larger diameter. An Independent claim is also included for making the buffer by injection molding the bush using a thermoplastic polymer and injection molding the insert (3) into a through recess (10) using an elastomer.
