The method involves occupying half the bandwidth (1) with a signal during half the frame synchronization time (2), during which the other half of the bandwidth has no signal, and occupying the other half of the bandwidth during the second half of the frame synchronization time and applying no signal to the first half of the bandwidth. The transmitted power is identical in the two halves. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for evaluating a frame synchronization word.
