The method involves determining the temp. of a gas mass flow entering a combustion chamber; determining a correction factor (K asterisk ) by using a root-like function of a ratio of current temp. and standard temp. of the gas mass flow entering the chamber; and determining a gas mass flow in the combustion chamber depending on a value of gas mass flow determined at the standard temp. (T0) depending on an induction pipe pressure (ps) and the temp.-dependent correction factor. An Independent claim is also included for an application of the method to measuring engine operating parameters.
