The method involves converting FSK signals digitised in an ADC into complex input signals in an IQ demodulator and forming the difference phase vector of the I and Q components from which symbols are determined. The phase variation is determined from the known frequency variation of the symbols and the known sampling frequency of the ADC. The complex difference phase vector for each FSK symbol is derived from the phase variation and the complex input signal. The difference is formed between the complex values of the vector and the complex values delayed by the sampling period. The difference phase vector with minimum magnitude is derived from the complex values formed by differencing.
