Monitoring method for correct operation of vehicular debiting equipment, stores location data input against satellite navigation data for later comparison by supervisory unit to eliminate possibility of fraudulent activity
For debiting, the mobile unit (1) stores data identifying the relevant road (8) network or region and the time of its use. An external system receives satellite navigation data, obtained over a wireless channel at the same time, all data being stored in non-volatile memory. Wireless channel verification is used. Should operation error be signaled, stored data is inspected for correspondence.
