PURPOSE: Provided is a photo crosslinking polyimide-based polymer compound used for a preparation of an optical modulator, a switch, which has a covalent bond between a polyimide substrate polymer and the two of a non-linear optic chromophore and a photosensitive group. CONSTITUTION: The photo crosslinking polyimide-based polymer(formula 1) is produced by a process comprising the steps of: polymerizing a dianhydride(formula 2) with an aromatic diamine having hydroxyl group in N,N-dimethyl acetylamide at a normal temperature for 10-15 hrs. to prepare a polyamic acid; adding xylene to the polyamic acid and performing the reaction at 150-170C for 4-6 hrs. to prepare polyimide; adding 2-£4-(4-nitrophenylazo)-N-ethylphenylamino|ethanol as a chromophore, diethyl azo dicarboxylate, and tetrahydrofuran(THF) to the polyimide and then performing the reaction at a normal temperature for 40-60 hrs. to prepare a non-linear polyimide-based optic polymer; adding cinnamoyl derivatives with triethylamine dissolved in THF and then performing the reaction for 20-30 hrs. In the formula, R1 is a non-linear optic group, R2 is a photo crosslinking photosensitive group, R is -H, -CH3, -OCH3, -(CH2)mCH3, -O(CH2)mCH3, m is an integer of 1 to 6, n is an integer of 1 to 100.
