PURPOSE: A method for removing the offensive odor during the fermentation of stool of domestic animals is provided, which does not use expensive sawdust and recycles gypsum and fly ash being waste. CONSTITUTION: The offensive odor during the fermentation of excrement of domestic animals is removed by mixing gypsum with an equal quantity of fly ash to prepare a mixture, adding a little quantity of water to the mixture, and leaving the mixture for a long time; adding about 25 parts by weight of the mixture to 100 parts by weight of the stool of domestic animals to controlling the moisture content to be about 50-60%; performing the first fermentation in the closed fermenter by adding a strain culture to remove ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and low molecular odorous materials; performing the second fermentation to decompose fibroid materials, thereby to generate a compost rich in humus. The methane gas generated in the second fermentation is liquidized and collected.
