PURPOSE: Block type thermal power stations are provided to generate demand dependent useful energy, in particular current as electric energy and/or heat or cold as thermal energy. CONSTITUTION: Block type thermal power stations are used to the generation of electric power and heat under the use of the primary energy. A prospective calculation of the current and heat demand is calculated at least for the next 24h based on different presently available criteria, the determination of the consumption integrals is derived from automatic evaluation. In that case, selection and/or control of the current and heat is optimized by the energy cost in the many tariff phase. A day type graph which is variously planned is used as the standard for the purpose of a prospective calculation. Heat demand integrals are generated by unit during the high tariff phase of the current in operating unit of the generation of electric power and heat. The corresponding plant contains a processor unit in an automatic machine, and provides an appropriate software which can collect in important all data in order to operate the block type thermal power station. An energy optimization program for block type thermal power stations is thus set up with the available data
