Process for preparing a catalyst system for the polymerization of a-olefins in suspension in gas phase at low and high temperatures or mass at high pressures and high or low temperatures. The catalyst system is comprised of components A and B, A being a set of a porous inorganic oxide (silica, alumina, clay) functionalized with a compound silanizing A.1, A.2 plus a complex organ aluminum alkylaluminoxane type with 4 to 50 alkyl groups, and A.3 a metallocene of zirconium, titanium or hafnium preferably; wherein the electron donors {pi (cyclopentadiene, indene or fluorene) may be bridged to each other by a chain of carbon atoms, silicon, germanium or tin. The cocatalyst compound B is a bulky perfluoro boron and / or alkyl aluminum or methylaluminoxane. This catalyst system strongly active components fixed to the support, preventing their migration to the polymerization medium, achieving good control of the morphology, distribution of the particle sizes and molecular weight of the polymers obtained. It presents a high activity in the polymerization reaction whereby the level of contamination of the polymers is reduced.
