A load-bearing element for producing load-bearing structures, in particular floors, comprises two lattice girders 1 which are arranged one beside the other and are connected to one another by transverse bars 5. Each of the lattice girders 1 has a top flange 2, two bottom flanges 3 and diagonals 4 connecting the top flange 2 to the bottom flanges 3. The transverse bars 5 are fastened on the diagonals 4 by welding. Supported on the transverse bars 5 is a cable-like prestressed reinforcement 6 which is secured at the ends of the lattice girders under prestressing. In the case of producing a load-bearing structure from the load-bearing elements according to the invention, suspension brackets 8 fasten panel elements 7 on the bottom girders 3, a filler element 10, for example made of polystyrene, being positioned on said panel elements 7, whereupon the space remaining is filled with lightweight concrete 11 such that the lattice girders are embedded.
