The method comprises the steps of: secures the welding tooling (10) with at least one fastening member (2,5) with correct positioning with respect to the area (S) to be welded; applying a force (pressure P1) predetermined on the sealing plate (17); the area is heated (S) to be welded at a temperature permitting the melting of the contact layers between the fastening element and the membrane; after a predetermined heating time the force on the sealing plate (pressure P1) is reduced (pressure P2) and cooling air is projected over the sealing plate (17) until this plate has reached a temperature of fastening between the contact layers; the tooling (10) is disconnected and removed from the fastening element (2,5). The fastener includes a cap (2) attached by means of a fastening means (1) to the underlying structure (6,7) and a connecting element (5) between the cap (2) and the membrane (8).
