PURPOSE:To obtain Ca doped lanthanum chromite powder at a low temp. in a short time by dewaxing a mixture contg. La, Ca and Cr in a prescribed ratio and bringing the mixture into a reaction under special conditions. CONSTITUTION:La(NO3)3, Ca(NO3)2 and Cr(NO3)3 are added to a soln. of excess oxalic acid in ethanol and the ethanol is distilled off to obtain a mixture contg. La, Ca and Cr in (1-x):x:(1-y) molar ratio (0x=0.4, 0y=0.5 and y=x). This mixture is dewaxed at =400 deg.C and brought into a reaction for =5hr by rapid heating to 900-1,000 deg.C at =300 deg.C/hr heating rate to obtain Ca doped lanthanum chromite powder. This powder is press-molded and fired at 1,200-1,400 deg.C for a short time to obtain separators 4 each made of a Ca doped lanthanum chromite sintered body. Flat cells 1 and the separators 4 are alternately laminated while interposing spacers 2, 3 and gaseous fuel feeding pipes 7, and air feeding pipes 8 are allowed to communicate with spaces 6 for feeding gaseous fuel and spaces 5 for feeding air, respectively, to obtain a solid electrolyte type fuel cell.
