PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trial music data setting method capable of clearly showing the difference in tone or image of tone and suitable for the environment of a user. ;SOLUTION: A playing part memory 1 stores the tone information showing the tone of each playing part and the pan information for each playing part. A user instructs a playing part and reads the tune information from the playing part memory 1, whereby the tone of each playing part is discriminated. The musical genre of a trail music data and the music speed are designated, a music data suitable for the designated condition is set and outputted from a trial music data memory 1 according to the discriminated tone, the designated musical genre, the designated music speed, the type of playing part outputted from a memory/backing judgment part 8, and the combination thereof, and outputted to a sound source part together with the data of tone.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
