PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an on-line store which is improved in precision, reliability, and total quality by including an interactive up-sell adviser. ;SOLUTION: An on-line store 10 is used to generate a computer system constituted by a customer. A sale application 14 includes a shopping cart 20. The interactive up-sell adviser is included in the card 20. A customer constitutes the computer system in the on-line store 10 and the constituted system is added to the cart 20. When the up-sell adviser discriminates an option (e.g. hard disk drive) of the system as a chance of up-sell, the up-sell adviser gives a specific message including an option for grading up a higher choice by the customer and explains an advantages of the grading-up. When the up-sell is accepted, the order of the customer is automatically updated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
