PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To advantageously reutilize flux residue based on an alkali metallic fluoroaluminate or an alkali metallic fluorozincate by adding the flux residue to fluorite in the production of hydrogen fluoride and CaSO4 from fluorite and oleum. ;SOLUTION: Flux residue based on fluoroaluminate of potassium and/or cesium is used by 2 wt.%, advantageously 0.35-1 wt.% of the dry weight of fluorite contg. the flux residue preferably in a water-free state. Flux residue based on an alkali metallic fluoroaluminate and additionally contg. an alkali metallic fluorosilicate and/or an alkali metallic fluorozincate may be used. Hard gypsum having an additional cation content originating from the use of flux residue based on potassium fluoroaluminate and/or potassium fluorozincate is advantageous.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
