PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inoculating Pyricularia oryzae of rice plants into a field in order to inoculate the Pyricularia oryzae of the rice plants in the field in the agricultural research field. ;SOLUTION: A spore suspension of Pyricularia oryzae of rice plants is sprayed on a specific rice stubble 1 in a field at the time of sunset and the rice stubble 1 is then covered with a covering material 3 having a high long wavelength transmittance till the time of sunrise on the next day. Thereby, the inoculation of the Pyricularia oryzae of rice plants is carried out. The covering material 3 having the high long wavelength transmittance is an agricultural polyethylene film 3. The method has advantages in that the inoculation of the Pyricularia oryzae of the rice plants can surely be conducted under field conditions and has further wide general-purpose properties of requiring only a frame 2 and the covering material 3 covering the rice stubble 1 without additionally requiring a power or a special apparatus. The method can be applied to not only evaluation of sensitivity of the rice plants in the field but also the evaluation, etc., of the period of residual effects of a germicide applied to the rice plants in the field.
