PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the consumption amount of a dehydrochlorination agent and lower the dehydrochlorination cost by improving the dehydrochlorination efficiency in the case of dehydrochlorination of a hydrochloric acid-containing gas such as thermal decomposition gases of wastes, combustion gases of wastes, and the likes by using a granular dehydrochlorination reaction agent. ;SOLUTION: This method of dehydrochlorination of a hydrochloric acid-containing gas is carried out by passing the hydrochloric acid-containing gas through a reaction layer 2 formed by packing a granular dehydrochlorination reaction agent, producing chlorine compounds by contact reaction of the granular dehydrochlorination reaction agent with hydrochloric acid, and at the same time discharging reacted granular dehydrochlorination reaction agent. In the method, the used granular dehydrochlorination reaction agent 8a discharged out of the reaction layer 2 is coated with a new coating layer with a desired thickness of a mixture of a neutralization type dehydrochlorination reaction agent 8d and a hydrated calcium silicate 8k on the outer surface and the regenerated granular dehydrochlorination reaction agent bearing such a coating layer is supplied to the reaction layer 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
