PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high strength bolt for connecting steel structures and a connection structure of steel structures which can aesthetically improve the external appearance of a connected part of a steel structure and which is excellent in working efficiency to fit exterior finishing materials and apply a paint and further, in durability of a coated film and which prevents corotation of bolts when fastening the bolts.;SOLUTION: This high strength bolt for connecting steel structures is provided with a bolt head 4 having a specified thickness of the shear face and a bolt shaft 5 connected to the bolt head. The bolt head 4 is provided with a round mound-shaped top 11, a shank bady 12 connected to the top 11, and a tapered bottom 13 connected to the shank body 12. A part to be connected of a steel structure is pinched by a doubling plate and the high strength bolt is inserted into a bolt hole cut in both the doubling plate and the connecing part and fastened with a nut to connect it. In this connection structure of a steel structure, the bolt is used for the high strength bolt and a spot facing part tapered at the front end is cut in the bolt hole of the doubling plate and the shank body of the bolt head and the bottom part are put therein.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
