PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple heat treatment method and the apparatus thereof, with which the deformation of a bending, etc. of a wear resistant and corrosion resistant alloy steel long shaft member having an air cooling hardenability so as to be extremely difficult-to-straightening to the bend after the heat treatment. ;SOLUTION: In the heat treatment method provided with a process for hardening and tempering the wear resistant and corrosion resistant alloy steel long shaft member having ≥18 mm outer diameter and air-cooling hardenability, at least the hardening process, is provided with a process for incorporating the alloy steel long shaft member into a pipe jig, a process for charging the pipe jig in a heating furnace attaching a rotary device and heated and held while turning so that the alloy steel long shaft member under holding in the horizontal state repeats the action slippingly dropping to the bottom surface after sliding up to the angle of ≤90° from the bottom surface along the inner wall of the pipe jig, and a process for air-cooling further while turning under holding in the horizontal state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
