PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make usable a cable electroscope serving both as a phase judger of the cable after the dead or hot judgement in the cable electroscope capable of reliably detecting even all kinds of power cable without detecting erroneously the dead or hot judgement of the cable other than the object. SOLUTION: In the power electroscope constituted by a host station comprising a signal current transmitter 3 for transmitting a signal for a dead or hot judgement to a cable 2 as an object to be detected with electroscope, a branch station 4 provided at the end of the cable 2, a magnetic field sensor 6 for receiving the signal from an outer periphery of the cable 2 at an intermediate position of the both, and a signal current receiver 7, the signal current transmitter 3 as the host station is provided with means for regulating a transmission frequency of a signal current to 20 to 50 Hz, a transmission waveform to a square wave, and an output current, respectively. Furthermore, there is provided a means in which a signal is transmitted from the signal current receiver 7 at the intermediate position, and the function of the host station and branch station 4 is switched in each phase judgement, thereby enabling the phase judgement.
