The mechanical device consists of two flexible spheres (1) enclosed in a cylindrical sleeve (2) closed at both ends so that the spheres (1) always remain side by side and in contact with each other. The texture of the sleeve is soft and flexible and is air permeable. Its thickness and elasticity permit it take up the shape of the spheres when deformed by the weight of the neck. Each of the spheres has a diameter between 50 and 70 mm, preferably 64 mm. Deformation of the spheres is limited to between 5,6 and 7.2 mm when submitted to a pressure of 8 kilograms from a starting pressure of 4 kilograms. The spheres may be hollow or may be filled. The thickness of the enclosing sleeve is less than 50 mm.
