The invention concerns a quick response, self-power- supplied, miniaturised device (16) for sensing a multistage neutron flux, comprising a plurality of active identical elements (22), distributed in a tubular external sheath (18), along the longitudinal axis of this sheath. Each of these active elements (22) is sensitive to the local neutron flux, such that the device (16) enables a continuous monitoring of the flux variations over the whole height of the reactor core, when it is placed in one of the glove finger shaped tubes provided in the reactor core. The jumper wires (24) connected on the active elements (22) are all of the same length, as well as a compensating wire also placed in the sheath (18).
