The work station has a patient bed or table device and at least one medical device form the group of a cold light source, an HF device, video device or ultrasound device. At least one applicator is connected to the medical device. The medical device is arranged to be attached to the ceiling of the room in which the work station is located, or in or on the patient table or in or on a device such as an anaesthetic device or instrument table or operation set which can be placed on the table. Preferably the applicator is a cold light connected to the cold light source or a HF scalpel connected to the HF device or a camera connected to the video device or an ultrasound applicator connected to the ultrasound device.
