FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the growth-stimulating agents based on derivatives of imidenefuro-[3,4-c]-pyridinedione-3,4 (I). Composition has the indicated compound (I) and a film-forming substance. Composition has a new compound as a growth-stimulating agent - 6-methyl-3,4-dioxo-1-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-furo- -[3,4-c] -pyridine (II) and phosphatide concentrate as a film-forming substance and a composition has additionally alkali and water at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: growth stimulating agent (II) 0.001-0.005; phosphatide concentrate 9.0-11.0; alkali 0.25-0.40, and water - the rest. Invention proposes also a method of stimulation of sunflower growth by seed treatment with the above indicated growth--stimulating composition at the dose 10 l/t seeds.
