The invention refers to a variety of egg-plant (Solanum melongena L.) named Amurg, designed for field cultivation and obtained by the method of genealogic selection. It is recommended to be cultivated in all regions suitable for egg-plant cultivation in our country, and it is used for fresh or processed consumption. The variety has hardy plants with many ramifications, which are tall (70 - 75 cm) and display a partly branched bush and dark green leaves. The stem, the offshoots, the leaf stalks and the fruit calyxes are covered with fine, thick, grey little hairs. The dark violet-maroon fruit is pear-shaped and has an elongated to cylindrical shape, a length of 20 - 22 cm and a weight of 200 - 250 g. The fruit pulp is white-yellowish, with a fine texture and a pleasant taste. It is a semi-early productive (41-45 t/ha) variety, which has a vegetation period of 124 - 126 days, and is tolerant to Verticillium dahliae and Phytophtora infestans.
