PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce areas from being missed or picked up too much by using or combining the method for discriminating similarity between a link area formed from picked-up mass shadow candidate points and a three-dimensional(3 D) shape formed from a mass shadow area and a pixel strength curved surface while extracting and identifying a non-directional similar circular area from a linear area or background. SOLUTION: The non-directional similar circular area can be identified from the directional linear area or background by a mass shadow candidate point extracting part 1. Besides, normal areas picked up too much are reduced by performing direction balance analysis or 2D shape analysis in the link area of direction differentiation to the link area formed from the picked-up mass candidate points by a part 2 for reducing candidate areas picked up too much.
