PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively operate an automatic non-stop toll collection system by confirming an automatic toll collecting function on-vehicle equipment mounting (ETC) vehicle and a non-ETC vehicle corresponding to a response from the vehicle in respect to information transmission from a toll gate and performing respectively correspondent processing. ;SOLUTION: When a vehicle 3 arrives at a 1st communication area 7a of an entrance toll gate 1, the entrance toll gate 1 transmits an entrance toll gate ID and the time of arrival at the entrance toll gate through an antenna 8a to the vehicle 3. When there is a response to this information transmission from the vehicle 3, that vehicle 3 is discriminated as the ETC vehicle and when this vehicle 3 arrives at a 2nd communication area 7b, confirmed car type and number are transmitted through an antenna 8b to the vehicle 3. When there is no response, on the other hand, that vehicle 3 is discriminated as the non-ETC vehicle, an arrow showing a guide direction is displayed while being flickered on a guide lamp 15 installed ahead of the 2nd communication area 7b, for example, and the vehicle 3 is guided to a guide lane 17 where a pass issuing device 16 is installed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
