PURPOSE:To improve the degree of sintering in an alloy and to provide it with lightness in weight and excellent heat resistance and oxidation resistance by mixing Al3Ti intermetallic compound powder and copper series powder in a specified ratio and subjecting it to compacting and sintering. CONSTITUTION:Powder A with 1 to 50mum particle size constituted of one kind among Al3Ti intermetallic compound powder, Ti-(50 to 63)wt.% Al alloy powder and the powder mixed with Ti and Al in the ratio of Ti:Al=50 to 37:50 to 63wt.% and powder B with 1 to 50mum particle size constituted of one kind among pure copper powder, phosphor bronze {Cn-(3 to 20)% Sn-(0 to 1.5)% P} alloy powder, aluminum bronze {Cu-(0 to 15)% Al) alloy powder and other copper alloy series powder are mixed in the ratio of powder A : powder B = (85 to 50) : (15 to 50)%. This mixed powder is compacted and is thereafter sintered in a nonoxidizing atmosphere or is deaerated and compacted. Furthermore, boron with =1mum particle size is mixed in the ratio of 0.01 to 0.1% to the total content of the mixed powder of the above powder A and B, and this mixed powder is compacted and is thereafter sintered preferably in a nonoxidizing atmosphere.
