PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a plating layer of palladium or palladium alloy which is thin and has an excellent adhesion property on an iron-nickel blank. ;SOLUTION: The metal selected from copper, tin, nickel-tin alloy and copper- tin allay is plated on a substrate to be plated consisting of the iron-nickel blank to form a primary primer layer. Nickel or gold alloy is then plated on this primary primer layer to form a secondary primer layer. The palladium or palladium alloy is plated on the secondary primer layer to form a palladium or palladium alloy plating layer. The products plated by this method exhibits the excellent adhesion property, softness, corrosion resistance and solderability.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
