PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change and extend the constitution of a peripheral equipment without deteriorating a whole system by executing a connection processing only on the different peripheral equipment by storing constitution information before update and constitution information after update and comparing two pieces of constitution information at the time of extending of the peripheral equipment. ;SOLUTION: An input/output channel device 5 is logically connected to the peripheral equipments 9-11 via a dynamic switch 8. The input/output channel device 5 can freely access any peripheral equipment 9-11. A constitution information storage part 13 storing constitution information is added and constitution information before update and constitution information after update are stored in the two constitution information storage parts 6 and 13. At the time of extending the peripheral equipment 12, only the peripheral equipment whose content differs is connected and initialized. Thus, the peripheral equipments 9-11 which are not changed can be extended even if they are in the middle of operation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
