PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate damaging of a part and a degree of risk against a maintenance personnel. ;SOLUTION: A thrust shaft 1 installed on a base 120 is removed from a bearing cover after connection of the bearing cover including a yoke part arch 122a and the base 20 is cut off so as to inspect a bearing shell 121 installed in the inside of the bearing base 120 under this inspection method. Thereafter, the shell 121 in the inside of the base 120 is inspected. A carriage 8 is installed on the thrust shaft 1 and a guide means 7 is installed on an engine fixed part before the thrust shaft 1 and the base 120 are removed from the bearing cover. The carriage 8 and the guide means 7 are arranged each other so that the carriage 8 moves along the guide means while being supported on the guide means 7 at the time when the thrust shaft 1 is removed from the cover 122.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
