PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonreflective terminator which can be inexpensively and easily produced, can be made compact and light in weight and further improves durability. ;SOLUTION: One end of an optical fiber 3 composed of an optical fiber core 1 and an optical fiber clad 2 is formed into sharpened pyramid-shaped nonreflective termination part 4. This optical fiber 3 is inserted into a ferule, the other end is ground together with the ferule and made into light incident terminal, and a nonreflective termination assembly is provided. The nonreflective termination assembly is housed in an optical connector housing and a nonreflective terminator is provided. Thus, by connecting the nonreflective terminator to the non-used light output side port of a beam splitter, termination is enabled without the occurrence of an adverse influence caused by reflection.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
