PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device advantageous from the view points of facilities and energy which allow coarse gaseous carbon dioxide for the production of liquefied carbonic acid to be efficiently refined with high purity, particularly a method and a device advantageous from the view points of facilities and energy which allow the gas to be refined with high purity by efficiently removing CO, and further, H2, and simultaneously, efficiently removing other purities, too, from the coarse gaseous carbon dioxide. ;SOLUTION: The refining method for the coarse gaseous carbon dioxide for the production of liquefied carbonic acid is constituted of that (1) the coarse gaseous carbon dioxide for the production of liquefied carbonic acid is introduced into a gas treatment device 2 packed with an oxidation catalyst, and CO and H2 contained in the gas are converted into CO2 and H2O respectively, (2) next, the gas is introduced into a compressor 3 and is pressurized, (3) next, the gas is introduced into a deodorizing device 4 an a dehumidifier 5 and (4) the gas is then introduced into a liquefaction refining device 6.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
