PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate for a long period of time without execution of frequent washing and exchange of a filter material even in a closed water area of which a water quality is considerably deteriorated by a method wherein a water channel in which a partition body is arranged, a filter type water area purification device on a down stream side edge of the water channel are provided. SOLUTION: When a pump 34 of a filter type water area purification device 13 is operated, water in a pond passes through a suspension removal device 6, flows into a water channel 4, and a comparatively large suspension is removed in this case. The water flowed into the water channel 4 is cleaned by action of a plant on a microorganism planted on partition bodies 2, 3, and the suspension is removed by decomposition. Then, the water passes through a supply pipe 17 of the filter type water area purification device 13, and is stored in a filter tank 15. The water stored in the filter tank 15 is filtered with a filter material 31, and the suspended material is removed by decomposition. Then, the filtered water is sent with the pump 34 to the pond from a water feed pipe 35.
